9月12日讯，据知情人士透露，OpenAI据悉正在讨论以1500亿美元的估值筹集资金，此前华尔街日报在8月底报道时的估值为1000亿美元。该公司希望，能从投资者募资大约65亿美元，并讨论从银行债务融资50亿美元。知情人士指出，谈判仍在进行中，具体数字可能会发生变化。此前据外媒报道，本轮融资将由Thrive Capital领投。该公司最大的投资者微软也将参与其中，苹果和英伟达也一直在就投资事宜进行谈判。
