"Federal Reserve Messenger" Nick Timiraos: Economists expect CPI in August to be relatively mild as in July

Nick Timiraos, the Fed mouthpiece, said economists providing detailed inflation forecasts expected August CPI to be as relatively dovish as July. The median forecast showed a 0.21 per cent month-on-month rise in core CPI, which would keep 12-month inflation at 3.2 per cent. Overall CPI is expected to slow to 2.5 per cent.
