Caroline Ellison, the former chief executive of Alameda Research, testified against Mr. Ellison at a trial last year for her role in FTX's operation and subsequent collapse. Mr. Ellison was convicted of seven counts of fraud and conspiracy. Mr. Ellison had previously pleaded guilty to fraud related to FTX's operation when the exchange filed for bankruptcy in autumn 2022.
But in Tuesday night's filing, her lawyers noted that the probation department had filed a presentence report recommending three years of supervised release for Ms. Ellison because of her "extraordinary cooperation with the government" and the character certificates she submitted. The presentence report also recommended no fine for Ms. Ellison.
