美国证券交易委员会（SEC）首席会计师Paul Munter表示，SEC对限制银行提供加密托管服务的规则立场未变。9月9日，Munter在银行会议上重申了SEC职员会计公告第121号（SAB121）的观点，强调金融机构需在资产负债表上记录托管加密资产的负债。Munter指出，尽管有部分安排不符合该准则，但SEC依旧认为受监管金融机构不应提供加密托管服务。
