Broker Bernstein said in a research note on Monday that if Donald Trump wins the U.S. election in November, bitcoin is expected to hit a new high later this year and the cryptocurrency could reach $90,000 by the fourth quarter. The report said that if Kamala Harris wins the election, the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization is expected to break through the current bottom around $50,000 and could test the range of $30,000-40,000.
The broker noted that Mr. Trump has been outspoken about making the US the "bitcoin and cryptocurrency capital of the world" and has mentioned digital assets in every policy speech.
