Crypto trading platform Uphold is launching US dollar interest accounts. Simon McLoughlin, the company's CEO, said the move is aimed at attracting new customers and incentivizing users to hold more capital on the platform. Initially, the product is only available to US users, and these accounts "offer Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) insurance up to $2.50 million for participating funds," the company said in a statement. Simon McLoughlin said Uphold currently has more than 2 million users in the US.
