On September 4th, EigenLayer announced that it is upgrading the EIGEN and bEIGEN contracts to introduce programmatic incentives. As a first step in this process, transactions to upgrade the EIGEN and bEIGEN contracts have been lined up in the Timelock Controller.
EigenLayer previously said that "the programmatic incentive program will provide AVS" reward boosts ", in which EIGEN will automatically distribute to the pledgers and operators of each AVS in proportion to the reward amount allocated to each AVS. In the first year, at least 4% of EIGEN's total supply will be allocated through the program."
