At Blockchain Week Korea 2024, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin said artificial intelligence and prediction market technology could speed up the production of community notes on social media platform X. Community notes are a feature on X that enables communities to add background information for posts that may be misleading. Contributors can leave a "note" on a post, and if enough contributors find the note useful, it will be publicly displayed below the post.
Buterin added that any delay required to provide background to a post through community notes is "too much". However, the Ethereum co-founder believes that the solution may be found in the prediction market. Whenever a post is published, there may be a problem to determine if it deserves community attention. Buterin said that people can use large artificial intelligence language models (LLMs) and bots to bet small amounts of money on this prediction market.
