Apple is in talks to join OpenAI in a new round of financing

Apple (AAPL. O) is in talks to raise money for OpenAI in a move that would cement its relationship with the company. The investment would be part of a new round of funding that would value the company at more than $100 billion, according to people familiar with the matter. The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday that venture capital firm Thrive Capital is leading a multi-billion-dollar funding round that Apple rival Microsoft is also expected to participate in. It is not yet known how much Apple or Microsoft will invest in OpenAI this round.
