India is considering establishing a cross-border CBDC interoperability system

India's central bank, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), has proposed developing a plug-and-play cross-border transfer system to improve interoperability between countries. RBI governor Shaktikanta Das said at a recent conference that the greatest efficiency gains from such initiatives would come from ensuring interoperability as a key design element.
