Maker, the DeFi lending protocol, has officially announced the name change to Sky and announced the names of its upgraded stablecoin and native governance token. As part of the rebranding, Maker is renaming DAI to USDS. At the same time, the protocol also launched the Sky (SKY) native governance token as an upgraded version of the MKR token. As part of the rebranding, Maker SubDAO will be renamed Sky Stars, maintaining a separate decentralized project identity, connecting the Sky ecosystem through their unique business models and autonomy. The first SubDAO to go live was Spark, an open-source decentralized liquidity protocol that currently offers a 6% yield for users who deposit DAI tokens, while allowing users to borrow USDS at a 7% interest rate.
