Vitalik Buterin said in a reply to netizens on X that he agreed with the view that "[using] USDC on the Ethereum chain is much better than transferring money from CEX account to account", "because it builds network effects and user habits in the right place [on the chain], making it easier for users to switch to other options later. As an individual, I can even choose to just hold ETH and exchange it in real time with others who want USDC."
