Vitalik: We need to lead the development of anti-fraud technology in a principled manner

Vitalik said on the X platform: As a field, we need to lead the construction of anti-fraud technology in a principled way (because if we don't, the centralized version will be forced on us in an unprincipled way). The basic meaning of "principled" is:
(I) In-device scanning, no information will be sent to "Big Brother" (company or government)
(Ii) Users can choose very carefully which scanners to accept and not to accept, and scanners are produced in a competitive market by organizations with different structures (for-profit, community organizations, etc.) and different national or political biases
Cryptocurrency kidnapping should be reduced by encouraging wealthy cryptocurrency holders to deposit their funds in multi-signatures, who themselves do not have direct access to the information/items on individuals. That's what I do, and I've been advocating for others to do it for a decade (hence my focus on smart contract wallets and account abstraction).
