Meta and Spotify have teamed up to express concerns about overly strict artificial intelligence regulation in the European Union.
In public talks, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Spotify CEO Daniel Ek issued a joint statement on Friday criticizing the European Union's approach to artificial intelligence regulation, particularly with regard to open-source artificial intelligence development.
At the heart of their argument is the assertion that the current regulatory environment in the European Union hinders innovation and progress in artificial intelligence.
Both CEOs believe that strict privacy regulations around artificial intelligence, particularly those regarding the use of public data, are undermining the global competitiveness of European companies.
