According to a report from the University of Calgary, Bitcoin prices in South Korea are often higher than in other markets due to its relatively "closed" market, coupled with high demand for cryptocurrencies. Between January 2016 and February 2018, the premium rate for kimchi averaged 4.73%, reaching 54.48% in January 2018.
