After the release of the revised US non-farm payrolls data in March, "Federal Reserve mouthpiece" Nick Timiraos commented on social media that the data showed that US employment growth was indeed not as strong as previously reported every month. In the 12 months to March, the US added 818,000 fewer jobs than previously reported, which reduced the monthly average employment (previously 246,000) by 68,000, and the specific monthly revision will not be officially announced until February 2025. In addition to the total number, the report revised the employment level by 0.5%, the largest since 2009.
