On August 21st, Optimism, a Layer 2 solution, announced the adoption of the ERC-7683 cross-chain intent standard, co-proposed by Across and Uniswap Labs. This move aims to enable high-speed ETH and USDC transfers on the Superchain and further promote application layer interoperability in the wider Ethereum ecosystem.
Optimism has integrated Across's intent-based bridging solution to provide fast bridging capabilities to the Superchain ecosystem through Superbridge and Brid.gg interfaces. This move is in line with Vitalik's vision for the future of Ethereum, which is dedicated to addressing decentralization within and beyond the Superchain ecosystem.
Optimism plans to achieve protocol-level interoperability by adding native interoperability to the OP Stack, and leverage open-source standard interfaces to facilitate application-level interoperability.
Optimism is adopting ERC-7683, a cross-chain intent standard written by Across and Uniswap Labs.
