Mandiant, a cyber security firm, has confirmed that laptops used by WazirX team members were not compromised in the recent $230 million cyber attack.
On August 14, Mandiant filed a report saying that "we found no evidence that the three laptops used to sign transactions were compromised." While a detailed report is forthcoming, the findings largely suggest that the problems that led to the cyber attack originated at Liminal. The compromised wallets were managed using Liminal's digital asset custody and wallet infrastructure.
A spokesperson for WazirX said: "We have full confidence in the investigating authorities and will fully co-operate with them. We are actively working to recover the stolen funds and hope to bring the perpetrators to justice."
