Iran is expected to delay plans for retaliation against Israel

On August 17, according to the New York Times, U.S., Iranian and Israeli officials said Friday that they expected Iran to delay plans to retaliate against Israel for the assassination of a senior Hamas leader in Tehran to give mediators time to push for a cease-fire to end the war in the Gaza Strip. But they warned that the situation remains unstable.
