National Bureau of Statistics: PPI year-on-year decline is expected to narrow in the second half

On August 15th, Liu Aihua, spokesperson of the National Bureau of Statistics, said at the press conference of the State Council Information Office that there are still many factors affecting PPI in the coming period. On the one hand, there are still some uncertainties in the trend of international commodity prices; the domestic real estate market is still adjusting, and the demand for building materials-related industries is still weak. On the other hand, from the perspective of the tail-end impact of price changes, the pull-down effect of the tail-end impact on PPI tends to decrease in the next stage. Overall, the year-on-year decline in PPI in the second half of the year is expected to narrow, but it cannot be ruled out that there are some uncertain new factors, and there may be fluctuations in some months.
