Brazilian crypto exchange Mercado Bitcoin has launched cryptocurrency mortgages

On August 14th, Brazilian cryptocurrency exchange Mercado Bitcoin announced the launch of a lending product with cryptocurrencies as collateral, which will be paid to users in the national currency. This is the first such product launched by the company, which received a payment institution license issued by the central bank last year. To avoid the high risks associated with liquidation, Mercado Bitcoin will limit loans to 30% of the positions held by users of the exchange. The exchange hosts more than 900 million dollars in crypto assets, which means more than 300 million dollars in credit capacity.
