The Venezuelan government has blocked access to Binance, social media platform X and other online services amid unrest over disputed presidential election results. On August 9, VE sin Filtro, a local anti-censorship group, posted that "the DNS of cryptocurrency exchange Binance was detected to be blocked, which affected the normal operation of its website and mobile app".
"Like the websites of various companies in different sectors in Venezuela, including social networks, Binance's pages are subject to access restrictions," Binance said. It assured users that their funds were safe, adding that it was "closely monitoring the situation in order to resolve the issue in the best and fastest way possible".
