On Thursday local time, a group of cryptocurrency industry executives held a conference call with White House officials and advisers to Vice President Kamala Harris to provide their input as the Democratic presidential candidates set out their policy positions on cryptocurrency. Industry executives laid out their concerns about crypto policy. Neither the White House representative nor Harris's advisers made any commitments, according to people familiar with the matter.
The call included executives from Coinbase, Ripple, Kraken and Circle, as well as venture capitalists Mark Cuban, Chris Dixon and Ron Conway. Bruce Reed, the White House deputy chief of staff, Lael Brainard, the national economic adviser, Wally Adeyemo, the deputy secretary of the Treasury, and Kristine Lucius, the vice president's senior adviser and director of legislative affairs, also participated.
