The United States is mulling a new proposal to establish the United States as a global leader in the digital economy by establishing a Bitcoin Tax-Free Digital Economy Zone (DEZ). The initiative, led by the newly formed USABTC Policy Group, advocates for a tax-free DEZ, where bitcoins can be traded and accumulated without capital gains tax, but subject to tax on redemption.
The USABTC said the plan could secure the financial future of the US by creating an economic environment that is "resilient and innovative", unleashing the full potential of bitcoin while maintaining the centrality of the dollar.
