Scroll announced that it will launch a recursive upgrade of Darwin proofs on August 21, 2024. This upgrade will reduce gas fees by approximately 34%. With the Darwin hard fork, multiple batches of proofs will be bundled into one proof of validity, thus reducing verification costs. Scroll will deploy the upgrade on the ScrollSepolia testnet on August 14.
