US stocks close: Nasdaq index up 1%, China index up 3%

Aug. 7 news, U.S. stocks closed on Tuesday, the Dow initially closed up 0.76% or 280 points, the S & P 500 index rose 1%, the Nasdaq index rose 1%. Apple (AAPL. O) fell 1%, Nvidia (NVDA. O) rose 3.7%, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSM. N) rose nearly 5%. Nasdaq China Gold Dragon index closed up 3%, New Oriental (EDU. N) rose 13%, JD.com (JD. O) rose 2%, Alibaba (BABA. N) rose 1%.
