According to the independent think tank OMFIF, US Vice President Kamala Harris may not be able to afford to cede cryptocurrency industry support to Republican candidate Donald Trump, because crypto voter support, including donations, could "have an impact in key battleground states".
Speaking to cryptocurrency supporters at the Bitcoin Nashville conference last week, Trump promised to build a strategic bitcoin reserve if elected. He said it would be a disaster for the cryptocurrency industry if a Democrat were in the White House.
"Trump, with his characteristic opportunism, has found a segment of disgruntled voters and, perhaps more importantly, potential donors," Lewis McLellan, an editor at the OMFIF Digital Monetary Institute, wrote on the website on Thursday.
