The European Central Bank is inviting experts in the mobile technology industry to provide advice on the development of offline models for digital euro payments. The ECB is studying the deployment of offline functions of the digital euro on embedded security elements (eSEs) and embedded SIMs (eSIMs) in end users' devices.
To gain a deeper understanding of the market, technical, and business aspects of such deployments, the European Central Bank is calling for input from mobile equipment original equipment manufacturers, mobile network operators, and dedicated trusted service managers.
