dYdX has released the dYdX DAO treasury management details. As of the release date, a total of 80.50 million items have been attributed to DYDX and 19.40 million items have been attributed to stDYDX in the community treasury. In addition, 129.70 million DYDX will belong to the community treasury from Community Vester until August 2026.
The assets of the community treasury are currently limited to DYDX and stDYDX tokens. If the community wants to convert some of its assets or earn other assets, such as USDC, the lack of a legal entity may create uncertainty from a tax and regulatory perspective. In addition, having a community fund consisting of a single asset type (DYDX and liquidity pledge DYDX) can introduce significant volatility and risk concentration to the overall value of the funds, creating challenges for long-term financial planning and making it difficult to maintain DAO operations over the long term.
In addition, for the dYdX DAO to succeed in the future, it may be in the best interest of the community to expand the dYdX DAO to include a treasury sub-DAO.
