"Reducing the [Sinsemilla] hash function to a discrete log is not advisable because one of the potential targets of looking at the hash function is quantum resistance," Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, said in a reply to users on X. "We want to be able to do this once and then fix the state tree from that point."
