On July 29, the Israeli Security Cabinet has authorized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Galant to launch military strikes against Hezbollah in Lebanon in response to a rocket attack by Hezbollah on the Golan Heights town of Mejdar Shams on July 27.
