"No one wants to short bitcoin over the weekend," Markus Thielen, chief executive of 10x Research, wrote in an analysis published this week.
He explained that Mr. Trump was expected to announce plans for a strategic reserve at the Bitcoin conference on July 27 (if he is elected president in November). Thielen believes traders in futures contracts are not shorting Bitcoin because they are worried that its price could surge on the news.
