Lawyers representing former FTX executive Ryan Salame have asked a New York court to extend his jail time to undergo emergency surgery after he was bitten by a German shepherd while visiting a friend's house on June 29. "
Salame later went to the hospital on July 3 and was examined for "a dog bite on the face," according to an attachment to a doctor's letter submitted to the court on Friday.
Salame, a former co-CEO of FTX Digital Markets, was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison last year for pleading guilty to criminal charges. Salame was originally scheduled to appear in court for sentencing on August 29 this year, but his lawyer asked that the date be postponed to October 13.
