新加坡内政部（MHA）国内安全司（ISD）发布“2024 年新加坡恐怖主义威胁评估报告”指出，突出的由于全球不稳定，恐怖主义对国家的威胁加剧，各种伊斯兰恐怖组织越来越多地使用加密货币为恐怖活动筹集资金。然而，虽然加密货币的使用越来越多，但“伊斯兰国”及其附属机构进行金融交易的主要手段仍然是现金。
