India's Narcotics Control Board (NCB) is actively monitoring cryptocurrency payments on the dark web, having formed a task force and launched digital forensics training to address the growing problem of cryptocurrency abuse in drug trafficking.
During a parliamentary discussion on July 24, Indian Home Minister Nityanand Rai revealed India's current strategy to reduce narcotic drug imports and inter-state flows. According to the NCB, the number of drug seizures involving the dark web and cryptocurrencies has grown steadily since 2022. Rai detailed 13 action plans against India's growing problem of drug trafficking and drug terrorism, two of which involve cryptocurrency payments.
