On July 21, according to the New York Times, four people familiar with the matter said that in the two years before Trump's attempted assassination at a Pennsylvania rally last Saturday, senior officials of the U.S. Secret Service had repeatedly rejected requests from Trump's security personnel for additional resources and personnel.
