On July 16th, according to Cointelegraph, the top 100 so-called "dirtiest Bitcoin addresses" currently hold more than $88 million worth of BTC. These wallets are classified as addresses containing a "very small amount" of BTC, also known as dust addresses. Since January 2023, these addresses have accumulated more than 530 BTC. According to BitInfoCharts, these addresses hold about 1,380 BTC in total. It is worth noting that many of the smallest addresses are relatively new, with nine of the top ten addresses not receiving their first transactions until after March 2023. While the newest of the top 100 addresses is only 5 months old.
At the top of these "dirtiest" wallets is the address controlled by the Houbi exchange. This address holds 12.46 BTC, which is worth about $792,000 at current exchange rates. This address has conducted more than 1.59 million transactions, accounting for 0.77% of all Bitcoin transactions. In addition, 78 addresses belong to the Bitcoin mining pool F2Pool. The largest of these addresses holds 2.47 BTC, which is worth about $172,737. The remaining addresses are believed to belong to retail and institutional investors, but it is almost impossible to distinguish between the two. It is worth mentioning that 82 of the top 100 wallets in 2024 have never had a wallet transfer in and out.
