On July 16th, Scam Sniffer issued a warning to watch out for phishing emails impersonating FTX. One victim lost $875,072 worth of vETH by signing malicious transactions in the scam.
MistTrack added that the scammer's address for this scam is 0xaF6B45D8bbB92f1EeE865cEEA73fF2D21C83ed23. The scam funds were exchanged for about 1400 BNB for a total of about $1.70 million. The scam service provider Inferno Drainer addresses 0xFC4EAA4ac84D00f1C5854113581F881b42b4A745 for a total of $3 million. Please sign any documents with caution. Unfortunately, it is best to assume that everything could be a scam. While fund recovery is possible, it is extremely difficult and often requires cooperation between exchanges, law enforcement agencies, and litigation that can last months or even years.
