Report: BNB Chain lost $1.60 billion due to hacking and Rug Pull since inception

Vulnerability bounty platform Immunefi said in its latest report that since BNB Chain was established in 2017, BNB Chain has lost as much as $1.64 billion due to hacking and Rug Pull. Of that, $1.27 billion is attributed to hacking, and the rest is related to Rug Pull. The report evaluated 228 Rug Pull cases involving $368 million, the largest of which was the DeFiAI Rug Pull case in November 2022, which involved $40 million., In comparison, the cumulative loss on the Ethereum chain was $3.60 billion, but only 4.4% of that was due to Rug Pull, the report said. After a series of hard forks in BNB Chain to address network vulnerabilities, losses decreased in 2023 and 2024.
