Consensys founder: US regulator'neglected duty '

Consensys founder Joe Lubin told an Ethereum community conference in Brussels on Wednesday that U.S. regulators were "negligent in their duties" and that certain senators and bank lobbies were able to "opportunistically" step in and guide the SEC's crypto policy. Lubin also said he and other participants were forced to deal with unclear legislation. "We've been used to operating under a cloud of regulatory uncertainty for years", he said. Still, Lubin said he believes regulators are making "real progress", in part because of the upcoming U.S. election, and lawmakers are now looking for new ways to win votes and raise money for campaigns.
