On July 9th, SuperRare co-founder John Crain wrote on X that the RARE token and protocol contract will soon be launched on Base. L2 is changing the rules of the game, with low-cost mint currently the main NFT use case on L2.
Crain said he is interested in an L2 auction mechanism that leverages L1 assets, and the team is exploring it through Chainlink CCIP, with the goal of enabling a low-cost fast auction in the summer to provide users with L2 UX with L1 security.
