In its official platform for the 2024 U.S. election, the Republican National Committee expressed support for a number of crypto policy measures that would benefit digital asset companies and holders.
The Republican "Make America Great Again" platform vows to end "illegal and un-American attacks" on the US cryptocurrency industry, according to official documents released by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's campaign on Monday. The platform also promises to "defend bitcoin mining rights" and allow cryptocurrency holders to keep their own tokens, in addition to opposing the creation of a central bank digital currency (CBDC).
"We will defend the right to conduct transactions free from government surveillance and control," the document said.
