The spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce responded to a reporter's question on the false remarks made by the European side in the anti-subsidy case against China's electric vehicles

On July 8th, it was reported that the European Union's ambassador to China, Tuo Yao, said on the 7th that although the European Union has tried to contact China on the case of imposing tariffs on electric vehicles in China for several months, China has not sought consultations until recently. The Ministry of Commerce responded that the above remarks are seriously inconsistent with the facts. Since the European Union launched a countervailing investigation against China's electric vehicles in October 2023, China has been expressing strong opposition through multilateral and bilateral occasions, and has always advocated maintaining the overall situation of China-EU comprehensive strategic partnership relations and urging the European side to properly handle economic and trade frictions through dialogue and consultation.
