MetaMask development company Consensys has announced the acquisition of Wallet Guard, a cryptographic security application, to enhance the security of MetaMask. In this transaction, the Wallet Guard team will join Consensys as a whole.
Notably, in February this year, Consensys has integrated a Blockaid security alert in MetaMask, which is expected to prevent the theft of hundreds of millions of dollars in crypto assets in 2024. According to a report by Chainalysis, the value of crypto assets stolen through scams in 2023 exceeded $1.70 billion.
