Balancer has released the codebase for Balancer V3, the latest iteration of the protocol designed to simplify custom pool development. Balancer V3 introduces several innovations, including an instantaneous accounting system implemented via EIP-1153, reentrant pool lifecycle hooks, native revenue token support, fully enhanced pools, and a flexible router design.
Balancer V3 moves core functions such as token management, fees, rate scaling, and liquidity operations from a pool contract into a unified vault contract. This unification ensures that all pools of funds adhere to the same standards, maintaining a consistent pool state throughout the protocol. Balancer is open to feedback on its V3 codebase, which is open-source under the GPL3 license.
