Contrary to recent social media reports suggesting that Denmark is "about to ban" bitcoin wallets, the Danish regulator is not proposing a ban on self-custodial cryptocurrency wallets. The Danish Financial Supervisory Authority (DFSA) has denied false reports that the regulator plans to ban self-custodial wallets, also known as non-custodial wallets.
The DFSA's regulatory clarification follows a regulatory review of decentralization in the context of the Crypto Asset Markets (MiCA) regulation that went into full effect on June 30.
