On June 29th, the data privacy platform Aleo will launch the testnet validator incentive program from July 1st to 15th. The goal of this incentive program is to validate the coinbase reward mechanism and the underlying puzzle. To this end, the Aleo Network Foundation will provide 1 million points to the prover. Each prover will receive mainnet points proportional to the testnet points earned during the incentive period. The minimum reward is 1,000 mainnet points; any prover who earns less than this amount will not be eligible for the reward.
The announcement specifically states that the points earned during this incentive period will be distributed after the mainnet is launched. Aleo points will be used as a payment mechanism for Aleo mainnet services.
