U.S. stocks close: Three major stock indexes fall, Nike plunges 20%

U.S. stocks closed, the Dow initially closed down 41 points or 0.1%, the S & P 500 index fell 0.4%, the Nasdaq fell 0.71%. Nike (NKE. N) ushered in its worst day in history, closing down 20%; NVIDIA (NVDA. O) edged down 0.36%, Amazon (AMZN. O) fell 2.32%. Nasdaq China Golden Dragon index fell 1.02%, NIO (NIO. N) fell 5.24%, XPeng Motors (XPEV. N) fell 4.68%, Li Auto (LI. O) fell 2.51%.
