堪萨斯城联邦储备银行研究发现，稳定币保险成本高于银行存款保险。自2019年以来，四种未命名的稳定币平均年保险成本为3.2%，但过去一年已降至1%以下，而银行FDIC保险成本为2.5至42个基点。稳定币价格和发行量波动较大，且资本缓冲较小，平均仅0.9%。尽管如此，保险成本可由稳定币储备利息覆盖。
