The three major U.S. stock indexes closed up and down. The Dow rose 0.67%, the Nasdaq fell 1.09%, the S & P 500 fell 0.31%, and most of the popular technology stocks fell. Nvidia fell more than 6% and Broadcom fell more than 3%. Semiconductors, computer hardware, and software applications were the top decliners. Microcomputers fell more than 8%. Dell Technologies, Qualcomm, and ARM fell more than 5%. Nanowei Semiconductors fell more than 4%. ASML fell more than 3%.
